Fleet Maintenance Assistant

Opportunity:  Our Fleet Maintenance Assistance will support the vehicle logistics of our Behind-the-Wheel operations within the Northern California region.  This role is responsible for supporting all vehicles in the region; to include transporting cars to and from maintenance shops, carwashes, locations to support our instructors, and maintaining updated vehicle logs.  Ideal candidate will be driving within a 250 square mile territory from the Bay Area through Sacramento and all counties in between. This job will be part time (20-35 hours per week), and involve occasional on-call work.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct vehicle inspections.
  • Schedule, log and ensure completion of regular vehicle maintenance.
  • Process car caption reports.
  • Maintain a working relationship with regional support teams to ensure any pending maintenance issues are handled in a timely manner.
  • Vehicle maintenance, pick-ups and moves as needed; Driving fleet vehicles to repair facilities for service.
  • May be retrieving vehicles and relocating, investigating vehicle condition, checking fluids, getting cars washed.
  • Work closely with office manager to schedule service appointments, communicate estimates, obtain approvals for service. 
  • Identifies and escalate situations requiring urgent attention to the appropriate resources.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills at all times.
  • Escalates or resolve any application, equipment, or vehicle related issues immediately.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or as they become apparent.

Requirements:

  • Valid CA driver’s License, good driving record, and minimum 21 years of age.
  • Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance that meets business demands and work a flexible schedule especially during busy peak periods (summer).
  • Excellent problem analysis, problem solving and communications skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Communicating using electronic devices, including phone, e-mail, chats, etc.
  • MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • High-school diploma, GED, or AA Degree preferred.
