We’re looking for a mid-level, creative copywriter who will play an important part in our growth. This writer will focus on merchandising and selling our online driversEd and traffic school courses with compelling short-form communications.

Our ideal candidate is powerful with words.  You love to take a concept and serve it up twenty different ways, across a range of direct response tactics. You are an expert working across all channels, including PPC, paid social, organic websites and email. You know what works – and what doesn’t. You see a business problem and know how to solve it with pithy, focused communications.

It would be great if you have also helped to build brand voice and style guides to bring this to our consumer brands. You must be able to approach projects from a user-centric perspective, without losing sight of business goals. You are always focused on solutions that succeed from both vantage points.

Our ideal candidate comes from a role writing short-form copy. This role does not include longer-form writing such as blogs, articles, guides etc.


  • Write and edit short-format copy for marketing assets including landing pages, SEM, paid social, emails, and other projects as needed.
  • Ensure eDriving is implementing documented best practices at every touchpoint.
  • Build relationships with partners and stakeholders to understand the products, the business and the customer experience.
  • Help create campaign concepts with designers, UX, product marketing, etc., to support initiatives such as new product launches and integrated campaigns.
  • Establish messaging frameworks to support the launch of products and services.
  • Create and evolve a brand voice and tone for eDriving brands. Create and maintain a copy style guide. Train other writers in the brand voices.
  • Proof and edit peer copy and other company documentation.
  • Maintain an up-to-date messaging repository where teams can view current messages we are using across the business at any given time.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Linguistics, or other writing-intensive program, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3-5 years of writing experience.
  • Has already thought of five ways this job description could be better.
  • Proven ability to write short form copy that converts.
  • Understanding of visual design, and an appreciation of the interplay between copy and design.
  • Creative & organized; multi-tasker who can manage multiple projects under tight timelines.
  • Impeccable command of the written word, including spelling, vocabulary and grammar.
  • Strong understanding of SEO and its impact on organic and paid search acquisition.
  • Comfortable with data and analytics. You interpret relevant metrics and use them to inform content decisions.
  • Self-starter; works well independently and on cross-functional teams.
  • Strong presentation skills; ability to pitch ideas and present work to colleagues and senior leadership.


Prior experience in e-commerce, particularly retail.

Experience helping to create or evolve a brand’s voice and tone.

Ad agency experience.
